Getting started

Welcome to my new experiment.
I've been intending for some time to learn more about blogs and perhaps start one of my own. My interest until now was academic. I have a theory, or at least an idea, that blogs will become the newest mass medium, as uniquely different from other internet forms as radio is from television in the broadcast arena. We'll see.
Meanwhile, I was brought to blogger.com by Mike Cope's blog. Mike's son Chris is one of several children who were injuired in a traffic accident last weekend that left one child dead, and several others hospitalized. We've been praying this week for Chris and Jon Westin Bennett who are friends of my daughter and for the others and I've been following Mike's blog.
So, as with many things academic, my procrastination has come to a conclusion for now, but not for academic reasons.
